Ashley Young Turned Into Prime David Beckham On His Inter Debut
Ashley Young has Inter Milan fans impressed after his admirable debut performance against Cagliari.
The Englishman left Manchester United last week after an offer from Antonio Conte’s side arrived. And though the Premier League giants tried their best to fend off interest for their skipper by immediately offering him a deal, he refused to pen his future and decided to make the switch.
Young joined the Italians on a 6-month contract, with an option to extend it to another year. The makeshift fullback was set to run his contract down at the end of the season, but has instead chosen to make a move to Serie A for a fee rumoured to be around €1.5 million.
Moreover, the former winger has managed to make an instant impact at Inter by registering an assist within the half-hour mark during his debut. Deployed as a right wing-back, the former England international whipped in a delightful cross for Lautaro Martinez who made no mistake with the header.
This was the ex-Aston Villa man’s first assist this season, after failing to register one in 12 appearances for the Old Trafford outfit, whilst also overtaking Jesse Lingard’s goal contributions in a year.
Ashley Young has been involved in more goals (1) for Inter in 29 minutes than Jesse Lingard for Manchester United in last 12 months.

The Nerrazzuri crowd seem very impressed by the former Red Devil’s performance so far and have taken to Twitter to express it, along with a few upset United supporters.

It looks as if the right-back has taken the switch to the Italian league very well. Romelu Lukaku and Chris Smalling have also flourished in Serie A since their departure from England.
