Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been on the receiving end of quite a lot of criticism ever since the premiere of 2019-20 campaign, owing to the unpleasant start Manchester United showcased under the gaffer.

Resting in the 5th position on the Premier League table – 6 points below Chelsea, a Champions League spot is quite skeptical let alone winning the title this season. Having recently lost against Manchester City in aggregate, the Red Devils have any odds of them securing the Carabao Cup ruined.

With the only title left being the FA Cup, Solskjaer looks forward to up his game in the remainder of this season in order to retrieve his position at Old Trafford at the end of the season.

Although the Red Giants got knocked out of the League Cup last night, they did secure a win against their domestic rivals with the scoreline of 1-0. The Norwegian manager not only won the game at hand, but also did it along with a clean sheet at the Etihad stadium.

With that match, the 46-year-old becomes the only manager to secure a win against Pep Guardiola’s City twice at the opposition’s home stadium.

Furthermore, the prolific gaffer did so with a relatively weakened midfield owing to the absence of Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay. United star Fred and Matic successfully anchored the midfield, plus the ex-Chelsea man was the only one to register a goal as the Mancunians clashed their horns.

This might actually breed some confidence in the players to go out and win more, knowing they have everything they require to ensure victory with plenty of games left in this term for them and the manager to shine.

Nevertheless, the Red Devils are now preparing to face off against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday.
