What Harry Maguire Said About Bruno Fernandes After Chelsea Win
Manchester United traveled to London this week to face Chelsea in their latest Premier League outing.
The two struggling sides went head-to-head in this much-awaited fixture with the Red Devils turning up on top. Goals from Anthony Martial and Harry Maguire made sure the Red Devils headed back home with all three points whilst the Blues gave no reply.
Apart from the controversial decisions that went against the Londoners it was new arrival Bruno Fernandes’ performance that took the spotlight. The Portuguese was almost unplayable in midfield during the first half, especially alongside Fred.
Fernandes also created 3 chances during match and also assisted Maguire’s goal. And the Englishman did not leave his teammate’s efforts go unappreciated.
“It’s been a long time,” the defender told club’s official website. “Obviously I got my first goal against Tranmere with my feet but I’ve missed a lot of chances this year and I knew it was a matter of time before I scored one.
“Obviously, Bruno helped with a nice delivery and hopefully there will be more to come between now and the end of the season. You can see what Bruno makes, the quality on the ball that he brings, his technical ability and he’s a presence as well. He demands things off players, he’s a leader and he’s nice to have around the dressing room so long may that continue.”
On the other hand, the London outfit felt they were treated unfairly by the officials as multiple decisions went against them. Fans felt the visitors should’ve been a man down following Maguire’s offense against Michy Batshuayi among a few other complaints.
Nevertheless, it’s the Manchester outfit who walk away with the win at the end of the day, deservedly despite all the controversies.
