Angel Di Maria ‘Hates Man Utd’ And ‘Changes The Channel’ If They’re On TV

Somewhere between being a fan-favourite at Real Madrid and becoming one of the best players in Ligue 1, Angel Di Maria had an absolute nightmare of a stint at Man Utd.

Arriving at a whopping fee of £59.7 million, the Argentine was the most expensive signing made by an English side back then. Although Di Maria recorded 4 goals and 11 assists during his debut season, his performances in general and severe lack of consistency forced him to be seen as the worst signing of the season.

The price tag and the former Galactico image came with too much expectations and the playmaker eventually cracked under pressure. The Argentine international signed for Paris Saint-Germain the next summer, just a few days after boarding a flight for United’s preseason tour.

Naturally, the whole experience was more on the bitter side for the ex-Real Madrid man. And according to PSG keeper Marcin Bulka, the winger’s spell in England has led him to hate the Old Trafford outfit.

“Di Maria hates Manchester United,” Bulka told Polish YouTube channel Foot Truck. “He has no good memory of the time he spent there.

“In fact, when something related to Manchester United appears on television, he changes the channel quickly.”

The Pole’s claims make much more sense looking back on the Mancunian’s Champions League tie against the French giants last season where the PSG winger was seen telling the home crowd to ‘f**k off’ after setting up a goal.

The 32-year-old has certainly not taken his former endeavours kindly and still holds a lot of bitterness towards his former club. But being a professional, it seems a bit immature to still be upset over his stint at what was a struggling club at that point, despite moving on to kinder tides.
