Manchester United are seriously working towards regaining their form as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eager on top football once more.

As such, their recent run has certainly been helpful in that regard, with the winter addition of Bruno Fernandes aiding the club’s prospects. However, it is clear that a sterner and more pragmatic approach needs to be undertaken at the outfit with regard to those players who are not performing up to the mark.

Solskjaer didn’t mince words as to why Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira were dropped from the club’s recent 3-0 win against Watford, citing poor performance as the reason.

However, going forward, the duo could face even more stringent consequences for their drop in form.

According to the Express, Manchester United are ‘likely’ to sell Andreas Pereira and Jesse Lingard at the end of the season.

This won’t arrive as a surprise to fans as Lingard has been terrible for the Red Devils, with his 2019 antics leaving supporters shocked. At 27 years of age, the Mancunian academy graduate is way past the untapped potential phase that was often cited to him. Already the likes of AC Milan are being linked to the attacking midfielder.

Pereira, while marginally better than Lingard in terms of raw numerical contributions, is also a player who has struggled significantly this campaign.

In fact, it is Fernandes’ arrival and short impact that further highlights just how poorly the duo functioned in the crucial spot earlier.

If this claim is true, it will be interesting to see which club elects to purchase these players. Given United’s recent transfer woes, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they manage to transfer into absolutely remarkable players elsewhere, finally functioning with the incredible cameo shells of brilliance that they exhibited at the club in the distant past.
