European Giants ‘Make Transfer Offer’ For Timo Werner
Manchester United are keen on making a move for Timo Werner, reports the Athletic.
There have been widespread rumours that the Werner is likely to move on from RB Leipzig since last season. Although it did not happen last summer, it is believed that the striker is almost certain to depart the Bundesliga side this time around.
Having scored 27 goals and assisting a further 11 in 33 appearances this season, the German international seems to be the real deal. The Leipzig talisman has been the only competition Robert Lewandowski has had since the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund.
And it’s no secret that United are in the market for a young striker in order to boost their attacking prowess and squad depth. Switching up Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford up top does not seem to be a sustainable process in the long-run.
Which was the reason the Red Devils worked intensely to try and import one of Erling Braut Haaland and Joshua King in January. Ultimately, United efforts to lure them failed as they ended up signing Odion Ighalo from the Chinese Super League, which was an underwhelming arrival.

However, it was reported that the former Stuttgart man has received concrete offers from the English giants, as well as from Barcelona and rivals Liverpool, the latter of which is his preferred destination.
According to the report, the lethal goalscorer can be acquired for a relatively low fee of £51 million if the signing is made before a deadline in April.
Although, the Mancunians have registered good interest in the 23-year-old and have all the power to sign him, other clubs are simply in a better position to sign him. Thus, it’ll be very interesting to see what tactics the Premier League giants would use to try and lure him to Old Trafford.
