Fred’s Stats In United’s 5-0 Win Over Club Brugge Were Absolutely Incredible
Manchester United fans will be delighted with their club’s showing in the Europa League Round of 32 as the Red Devils thoroughly embarrassed a 10-man Club Brugge with a 5-0 battering at Old Trafford, elevating the aggregate scoreline to 6-1.
Goals came from everywhere on Thursday night, with Bruno Fernandes’ early penalty setting the precedent which was doubled with Odion Ighalo’s debut goal. To complete the string of 3 goals in roughly 14 or so minutes, Scott McTominay ended the half on a strong note.
The rest of the action had to be provided by Fred who waited until the final 10 minutes to spice things up even more. His first goal arrived in the 82nd minute courtesy of a Jesse Lingard pass while his winner in the 90th minute and was gifted by Tahith Chong.

This campaign Fred has thoroughly become the Brazilian midfield powerhouse that Jose Mourinho hoped for him to be when he was signed.

Even when Scott McTominay was out injured he partnered Nemanja Matic well in the midfield and engineered a vital run of victories in the Premier League. Now that the young Scotsman is back, it seems likely to be business as usual.
This renaissance will please United supporters, especially since the Brazilian was initially viewed as yet another waste of money when the initial high of stealing him right under the noses of Man City died down.
However, these recent games and the consistent positive performances and promising numbers he has been putting up certainly redeem his initial slump. It will be interesting to see how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is able to build on such performances and engineer a completely world-class squad at the Theatre of Dreams.
