Manchester United needed a positive result on Thursday as they hosted Club Brugge following the first leg back in Belgium.

The away fixture ended with the scoreline at 1-1, however, at home they secured a comfortable 5-0 win that saw them advance 6-1 on aggregate.

New arrival Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring with a penalty and was followed by Odion Ighalo scoring his first ever goal for his new side. Scott McTominay furthered his team’s lead and a late brace from Fred sealed the deal.

It was a very dominant performance from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, especially after being deprived of attacking football for a long time. The arrival of Fernandes has really added a new dimension to the Mancunian’s style of play, which is very positive to see.

Moreover, it was also a very dominant defensive display with Harry Maguire and Eric Bailly, guarding the goal very well. The Ivorian especially had a special moment during the game that impressed the home crowd.

As the Old Trafford outfit were 3-0 up, Bailly hilariously saw through that a loose ball from a Brugge player went out for a goal-kick whilst shielding the ball very well under pressure. The centre-back attempted some cheeky step-overs, probably just to assert his dominance.

Needless to say the fans were very entertained, evident from the cheers of the crowd. Fans on Twitter, had the best reactions, however.

Although it does seem like Eric Bailly was overdoing it, anyone who put up a display like he did last night deserves to boast as much as they want.
