Manchester United were solid and experienced in their showing as they meted out a convincing 3-0 win over Derby County in the FA Cup on Thursday.

The Red Devils saw a goal from Luke Shaw and a brilliant brace from Odion Ighalo seal their victory as the home side was unable to muster even a consolation goal.

Here’s how the Red Devils fared on the night:

Sergio Romero – 9.0

Once more cementing his spot as the finest back-up keeper in English football. That save for Rooney’s late attempt was simply magical.

Diogo Dalot – 8.0

Prominent in his forward runs but often seemed to be left out in the build-up play.

Eric Bailly – 6.9

Wasn’t entirely convincing in filling up Harry Maguire’s gap. Needs to sure up his discipline.

Victor Lindelof – 7.0

Decent display from the centre-back who was great at relaunching the play from the back.

Luke Shaw – 9.0

Arguably the Man of the Match. A brilliant goal in the first half then went on to play a role in Odion Ighalo’s goal. Great forward presence.

Scott McTominay – 7.2

Scrappy and completed the most passes in the game. Just what United need.

Fred – 7.5

Remarkable yet again and had a brilliant pass success percentage.

Juan Mata – 8.3

Great showing from the captain, especially in the opening minutes.

Bruno Fernandes – 7.8

Did his role fairly well and ensured that the creative flair was kept up.

Jesse Lingard – 7.6

Still not fully convincing and could have scored on one occasion.

Odion Ighalo – 8.8

2 goals in this game, 3 goals in 2 starts. The Nigerian is loved at the side he loves and will be expected to score several more.

Substitutes

Andreas Pereira – 6.5

Fairly decent cameo, although a bit wasteful upfront.

Anthony Martial – 5.9

Didn’t much in the way of offensive contributions.

Brandon Williams – Brought on too late to make a tangible difference.
