Even as the COVID-19 crisis has halted football from taking place on the field, the back room discussions that form a crucial part of the game’s dynamics have appeared to continue unabated, if not with a renewed spirit altogether.

As clubs and leagues mull over the best possible way to conclude this season, if at all, the higher-ups at top outfits are already looking at future campaigns.

As such, multiple transfer sagas that are bound to play a role in the upcoming summer window are already in third infantile stages.
And now, further assurance about one particular deal going forward appears to be in place.

As per the Mirror, Borussia Dortmund have conceded that they will lose Jadon Sancho in the near future and are already looking at contingency plans in the form of an apt replacement for the breakthrough winger.

Dortmund chief executive, Hans-Joachim Watzke, earlier stated: “You always have to respect what the player wants. We already said before corona that our preference is for Jadon to remain with us.”

“I can say clearly that even the very rich clubs, despite the current crisis, shouldn’t think they can get a bargain from us. We don’t have to sell anyone below their value.”

While adamant in its tone, this is perhaps a clear giveaway about the deal.

Further, the report adds that 20-year-old Valencia winger Ferran Torres is being eyed by the Bundesliga giants as Sancho’s replacement. It is understood that Dortmund have begun negotiations for the youngster.

This is a massive boost for the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea who are leading the race to acquire the former Manchester City starlet.

However, the £120 million plus pricetag still appears to be a massive requirement going forward. Which Premier League club is more likely to take the risky investment plunge and acquire the rising Englishman?
