Twitter Reacts To Anthony Martial’s Hattrick Against Sheffield United
Manchester United’s clash against Sheffield United at Old Trafford was an excellent affair. The game ended 3-0 in favor of the Red Devils with Anthony Martial’s excellent hattrick the biggest talking point of the fixture.
The three goals the French striker netted were certainly a game-changer and were actually the result of quite a few surprising numbers.
It was Martial’s first career hattrick as well as the first time a Manchester United player netted a Premier League hattrick since Sir Alex Ferguson retired. Robin van Persie was the last player to do that all the way back in 2013.
Fans were exceptionally pleased with their no.9 and the Twitter reactions spoke volumes about the same.

Anthony Martial’s hattrick tonight is the first that Manchester United have scored since Sir Alex retired. That’s honestly mad.

Rival fans really slated Anthony Martial every single day through lockdown just for him to score a hat-trick on the second game back. I love this game. 😂

It’s like watching Yorke and Cole, except Rashford wins the Nobel Peace Prize instead of the Treble

Guys don’t be sad that today Messi turns a year older and gets closer to retirement. Be happy that we’re blessed with a footballer like Anthony Martial who will be there to take the throne once he steps down

With this outstanding performance, Martial has now netted 19 goals across all competitions so far this campaign. It is fair to say that if his spell of good form continues, then both he and Marcus Rashford could realistically look to touch that impeccable 20-goal tally at Old Trafford and perhaps even surpass it. With a possible 16 games ahead in the event of progression across all competitions, that could be an easy affair for the attacking duo.
Of course, Martial could have had his second one much earlier had he lobbed the ball instead of passing it to Rashford early on in the first half, who wasn’t able to deliver.
The Red Devils are looking quite smart upfront and Wednesday’s game was testament to what they are capable of delivering. With Mason Greenwood slotting in for Daniel James, this is an attacking trident that is bound to deliver.
