Marcus Rashford has been improving the quality of life of others off the pitch but on it, he seems to be intent on ending careers.

On Wednesday, the English striker made all the difference in the Champions League fixture against RB Leipzig, netting a sublime hattrick that added to the efforts of Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial’s penalty to make it 5-0.

Incidentally, Rashford was not in the starting lineup and was introduced into the game by Ole Gunnar Solskjær only in the 63rd minute and the scoreline was still only 1-0 then.

He took less than ten minutes to make it 2-0 and then four minutes later he netted another one.

However, in the course of transporting the ball to the back of the net a second time, Rashford managed to severely embarrass another player.

Dayot Upamecano tried his best to stop the force of Rashford’s creative run. However, the elegant skill and finesse of legwork shown by the 22-year-old stumped the defender and the clip of the same has been loved widely.

The beauty of the resultant goal may have been merciful for the defender as his folly wasn’t as evident then.

Incidentally, Upamecano has been touted as of recent to be the player that United are closely monitoring and has the potential to be their next big signing.

While the fashion in which he was trumped by Rashford on Wednesday may not make it seem so, the 22-year-old Frenchman is highly rated and has shown some excellent defensive calibre elsewhere.

However, he did come under the fire for his sub-par performance against United and many pundits even touted that the club rethink their potential interest in him after such a display.

Regardless, the antics in question certainly speak more about Rashford’s pure skill and hunger for scoring goals than any ineptitude on part of the defender.
