Bruno Fernandes was allegedly annoyed by Mason Greenwood’s lack of effort in training.

The teenager was the breakthrough star of last campaign, netting a clean 17 goals and looked hungry for even more. After the debacle that was the failure to sign Jadon Sancho this summer, fans expected Greenwood to continue to have a strong role from the right-wing for Manchester United until he was able to challenge for his natural striker’s spot.

However, that did not occur at Old Trafford as Greenwood has been consistently left on the bench or out of the squad altogether, with the likes of Juan Mata getting the nod ahead of him.

The England controversy from before the start of the season has always loomed hard on him as were speculation about his discipline. In fact, he seems to be causing trouble on the training ground itself.

As per the Times, Mason Greenwood left Bruno Fernandes exasperated during a training session in Carrington prior to the recent Everton game. It is understood that the English forward failed to respond to a pass, much to the annoyance of the Portuguese midfielder.

Incidentally, this could tell a lot more about the general passion of Fernandes who always looks to give his best and likely expects the same from his teammates. Regardless, Ole Gunnar Solskjær elected to drop the academy graduate from the travelling squad to Everton, citing health reasons.

The same source continues to peg some gloom and uncertainty surrounding Greenwood and his apparent lethargy and lack of sleep, resulting in a worrying form in training and on the pitch.

The forward has had hurrahs this campaign, notably in the League Cup and more importantly during his Champions League debut against RB Leipzig.

Supporters will be hoping that he is able to bounce back from his poor form soon.
