Adnan Januzaj could return to the Premier League with Brighton and Southampton.

According to Belgian outlet HLN, the former Manchester United prospect might be available for a fee as low as €25 million despite his €60 million release clause. The English sides are said to be keeping a close eye on Januzaj and are strongly interested in his services.

However, Real Sociedad are not overly excited about offloading the Belgian just yet. The Spanish outfit have already rejected approaches for a loan deal from AC Milan and AS Roma. Moreover, Sociedad are reportedly looking to extend the winger’s contract, which would otherwise expire in the summer of 2022.

On the other hand, the Belgian international faces the risk of exclusion from the national team for the upcoming Euro 2020 campaign having made just two starts in the league this season. Thus a transfer for better game time might turn out to be a smart choice.

The delayed nature of the campaign is something a lot of players currently struggling for minutes will appreciate.

The 25-year-old’s time in England was not exactly fond, however, having suffered a steep decline after bursting onto the scene back in 2013.

Consequent loan spells at Borussia Dortmund and Sunderland were also somewhat of a failure. And eventually, the Sociedad man was let go as he was no longer seen to be capable of fulfilling the potential he initially showed.

Brighton and Southampton are very good options if the ex-Anderlecht chooses to look for better pastures. The Premier League is a perfect platform to rejuvenate one’s career and a transfer could offer a way for the wideman to find his way back into Roberto Martinez’s plans for the European Championships next summer.
