What Fans Are Saying About Edinson Cavani’s Champions League Performance
Manchester United had an excellent thumping of Istanbul Basaksehir on Tuesday as the Red Devils cruised to a 4-1 victory at Old Trafford.
The first half was laden with action as the home side were fired to a convincing lead with a superb Bruno Fernandes brace. Marcus Rashford was brought down inside the box which then led to him converting a slow but effective penalty.
In the second period, the away team showed more teeth and were a tad bit more composed, finally getting their consolation when Deniz Turuc’s free-kick only just edged past David De Gea.
The fixture also saw Edinson Cavani start from the get-go. Although the Uruguayan did not have a goal to his name, he did manage to impress supporters with his style and fluidity.
Supporters took to Twitter to react to the chemistry and work rate the 33-year-old brought to the game.
Edinson Cavani seems to have worked so much on his fitness over the last few weeks even though he barely played for PSG. He was absolutely marshalling the frontline today for Man Utd, like Ole wants his striker to do.
Covered loads of ground, always offered himself to the team.

His age was repeatedly a point of reminder given how well he fared. Incidentally, the fact that he was this old was the point irking many supporters when he was first signed late in the summer window.
However, such a game instils a lot of promise in what he can go on to achieve moving forward at Old Trafford. His passing during the fixture was impeccable, with the 95% accuracy the best of any player who stayed on the pitch for his duration.
Likewise, the former PSG man was also supportive with his touches that added an element of rapidness to the United attack. Prior games alongside Bruno Fernandes had shown how well he can build on the passes if given the right chance and this fixture is laden with promise as to what the future may hold for the creative chemistry of the duo.
All in all, the goals need to come more often for United to benefit from the bargain.
