Bruno Fernandes has always appeared destined for midfield brilliance. However, when he was first signed by Manchester United, there was certainly some doubt over his performance.

Fast forward to nearly a year since his acquisition and the numbers say it all. This season, in particular, has seen the Portuguese maestro perform exceptional feats and that too on a regular basis.

From scoring to assisting to creating exceptional pieces of play with his vision and passing, there is little to argue about his versatile influence.

As such, it is no surprise that a particular blast from the past has been doing the rounds ahead of United’s EFL Cup clash with Everton.

The clip shows an 18-year-old Fernandes doing what he does best.

Fans were elated at the antics of the former Sporting star who has certainly lived up to the glimmer of excellence that the short video expresses.

Further still, apart from his on-pitch manoeuvres, Fernandes has also shown a knack for ace mentality with his hunger for winning simply excellent, if not infectious.

However, there have been multiple instances where he alone has not been able to deliver the necessary performances for United.

With United now seemingly focused on domestic glory, Ole Gunnar Solskjær and company may have to put in special work to divert attention effectively so as to make the best out of Fernandes without burning him out.

In that regard, the antics of a certain 18-year-old do show much promise.
