Manchester United have officially completed the transfer of Amad Diallo. The 18-year-old becomes United’s latest acquisition of the winter window even though his sale was sanctioned in the summer itself and his arrival was pending a work permit issue.

The pacey forward is highly rated and supporters of the club are keen on seeing him in action, eagerly hoping that he materializes into the player he has been hyped up to become.

Incidentally, the Ivorian teenager has been expected to do great things from a tender age itself.

This is perhaps best captured in the remarks of Boca Barco president Enzo Guerri whose side oversaw Diallo’s youth days. (via Tuttomercatoweb)

As per Guerri, Diallo was a promising 12-year-old and was expected to do great things, attracting interest from numerous Serie A giants.

In particular, he narrates an incident wherein the starlet was scouted by a Roma representative who had an excellent assessment to make.

Guerri narrates: “He came to see him in a match and, after a stop aimed at the chest by Diallo at 5′ [minutes], he turned his back to the field and went away. I immediately asked him for an explanation and he answered me: ‘Things like that, at the age of 12, only potential champions do. Seeing him in this match is of little use, take him to Rome to train with our team’.”

Quite a promising analysis of the youngster and one that seems to have come to fruition in some regard already. As such, the move to a club like Manchester United is certainly one of the finest routes that he could have hoped to take in order to best achieve that goal, however apparent it may have seemed growing up.
