Charlie McNeill faced his former side Man City U18 side and it turned out to be quite an eventful match.

The youngster had joined Manchester United for an initial fee of £750,000 last year. A hefty price for an immense player – McNeill had scored over 600 goals for the Skyblues’ youth side before making the switch.

The Englishman is one of the most highly rated teenagers at the academy level right now, so the price comes as no surprise despite having just turned 17 when signing for United.

Nevertheless, it seems like the teenager is already justifying the club’s faith with his latest exploits coming against his previous club. During the U18 level Manchester Derby held this weekend, the forward scored an incredible 4 goals, sealing the win for his team single-handedly with City managing to only halve the deficit.

Clearly, the Red Devils have a special prospect in their ranks but what made fans rejoice was the way the striker celebrated one of his goals. The young attacker hit the ground running by scoring an 11th-minute goal before proceeding to celebrate passionately by kissing the United crest.

Although this is a common sight in football, doing something like this against a former club is generally seen as disrespectful – which is exactly why the Old Trafford faithful absolutely adore him for it.

The 17-year-old has been in fine form since his transfer across the great city, having already scored 8 goals before this week. And looking at the way he has progressed, there can only be good things ahead of him; one of them being a potential cult hero by the looks of it.
