La Liga duo Raphael Varane and Kieran Trippier are close to moving to the Premier League.

Man United are advanced in their pursuit for Varane and Trippier to such a degree, that the Sun believes both deals are all but done, with announcements expected towards the end of next week.

The Premier League giants are expected to cough up a fee of £50m for the Real Madrid centre-back.

With his contract expiring in 12 months, the La Liga giants have no option but to sell or they would lose the Frenchman for nothing, akin to Sergio Ramos, who’s Paris Saint-Germain’s third high-profile free transfer of the summer.

Regarding personal terms, it’s reported the Frenchman’s representatives have discussed a five-year contract.

Solskjaer’s side are also edging closer to bringing Trippier back to England from Atletico Madrid. A transfer worth £18m is in the ‘final stages’.

While the 28-year-old central defender will partner Harry Maguire ahead of Victor Lindelof, the former Spurs right-back is being signed to compete with Aaron Wan-Bissaka. In the Spanish capital, it’s unclear at the moment who the Madrid giants would look at to replace key departures.

However, one must take the aforementioned claims with a pinch of salt, as there is no concrete news of United making official bids to either Madrid side for their star players. Nevertheless, both Varane and Trippier are understood to be interested in moving to the Theatre of Dreams, and it won’t surprise many if they end up at United in the near future.
