Dietmar Hamann believes Manchester United’s latest coup, Jadon Sancho is the best winger in the world.

The Englishman has finally completed his transfer to United after having been pursued by them for over a year. Sancho was one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s biggest targets as he hoped to find a solution for the weak spot at the right flank through him.

Ultimately, the Red Devils managed to prize away their man from Borussia Dortmund. The winger is coming off of a season where he registered 16 goals and 20 assists across all competitions. It is no surprise that the narrative surrounding him is that he is one of the best young talents in the world.

However, Hamann believes the former Manchester City youngster is the absolute best wideman in the world.

“In my view, not only is [Jadon] Sancho England’s best winger, he’s the best winger in world football and [Manchester] United fans should be very excited about his return to Manchester,” the German told the Racing Post [via MEN].

Big praise for someone who is not even close to being in his prime yet.

The Liverpool legend then went on to say that he was surprised by Gareth Southgate’s habit of leaving the playmaker out of the starting XI at the Euros.  The 47-year-old then added that the right-winger could be the key to ‘galvanising’ Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba – two of the Mancunians’ best players.

There is definitely a case to be made about the 21-year-old being already world-class; he has the numbers to back up such claims. Now that he will be playing in the Premier League, all there is left to see is whether he can replicate his exploits in Germany.
