Fans Talk About Grealish’s Old Man United Tweets As He Gets Closer To City Move
Fans have uncovered some of Jack Grealish’s old tweets supporting Man United as he edges closer to Man City.
The England international could complete a move to the blue side of Manchester in the next few days. According to Fabrizio Romano, City have already readied medicals for Grealish should they strike an agreement with Aston Villa.
A reported £100 million bid was made by the defending champions for the Englishman. It is quite obvious that Pep Guardiola rates him quite highly and intends to secure his services even if it means breaking the bank.
However, it turns out that despite being open to signing for City, the Englishman might not exactly be a big fan of them. The playmaker’s old tweets were dug up by fans and it seems like he was a big supporter of their neighbours instead.
In the posts that emerged, the Villa talisman can be seen expressing his excitement for the upcoming United games at the time. He had also made clear of his displeasure at the idea of the Sky Blues winning the league back in 2012.

On the other hand, it looks like City fans themselves were not huge admirers of their potential signing as they chanted “You’re just a s**t Joey Barton” back in 2019 during a tie against the Lions.

It is not unusual for players to support rival clubs; many grow up supporting clubs than the one they eventually end up at. And during the heat of games, fans often make chants in mocking fashion – it is just the way football is.
It is highly doubtful that the supporters would be against signing the 25-year-old because they mocked him once years ago. And neither would he hesitate to join Guardiola’s world-class squad to further his career.
