Manchester United players returned to CarringtonĀ to resume training on Tuesday.

United’s games against Brentford and Brighton were cancelled following which the players were forced to train at home. A situation eerily similar to the lockdown period of 2020.

Nevertheless, all seems better amongst the club’s ranks this week as they returned to training. Although, the new safety measures implemented only allowed a staggered return of players and staff.

Despite the break in between, things seem to have picked up right where it was left off. On Wednesday Cristiano Ronaldo took to Instagram where he posted a picture of himself with the likes of Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford with the caption “Winning team” – implying his side won the training match.

However, it seems like it didn’t take too long for someone to hit back at the Portuguese as Nemanja Matic posted a very similar image on Thursday with the exact same caption. The Serbian also tagged Ronaldo and asked him whether he was okay jokingly.

The Portuguese skipper is infamous for being very competitive. It is safe to say he will not enjoy this too much due to his hunger to always win, although it is all fun and games. There is no doubt about it – the former Real Madrid superstar will definitely try to get back at Matic during the next training session.

The spirits seem to be high amongst the Red Devils ahead of their fixture against Newcastle United. Rangnick will be hoping that the outbreak did not weaken his players and won’t affect the rhythm they have got going.
