Man United Rebuild: Erik ten Hag Makes Decision On Cristiano Ronaldo
Erik ten Hag will oversee a major rebuild when he arrives in Manchester, as he plans to make three major signings in the upcoming transfer window.
Almost every position could be considered an area of concern for the Red Devils when compared to the players of Manchester City and Liverpool. But Ten Hag’s options to upgrade are going to be limited and he would have to persist with many players for a season or two.
According to the Telegraph, the Dutchman is not against building his line-up around Cristiano Ronlado. He wants the Portuguese to continue at Old Trafford, but he might be told that he shouldn’t expect to start every game.
The incoming manager believes it would be foolish not to retain Ronaldo’s services. He still has one year left on his contract.
Further, Ten Hag will also ascertain whether or not Marcus Rashford wants to stay at the club. The Englishman’s preference is to continue despite indications from his representatives that he’s considering his future.
If the attacking duo remain at United beyond the summer, Ten Hag might focus on strengthening the club’s midfield and defence. However, it is reported that United have planned to include buying at least one striker in their massive rebuild of the squad in the coming months.
