“Imagine If It Was Maguire” – What Ronaldo Did Before The End Of Man Utd Friendly
Cristiano Ronaldo featured in his first pre-season game under Erik ten Hag, as Man Utd played out a 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano.
The Portuguese didn’t fly with the squad to Thailand and Australia for the pre-season tour and only joined training last week amid his desire to leave United.
Irrespective of Ronaldo’s behaviour this summer, the Old Trafford crowd gave him a warm reception. The player also applauded the fans after entering the pitch.
The 37-year-old was only involved in 45 minutes of action due to lack of training and match fitness. He got a chance to get on the scoresheet against the Spanish outfit after being played in by Donny van de Beek, but blazed it over the bar.
A goal on his return would’ve been a fine way to settle the dust. But what Ronaldo did after he was subbed off at half-time ended up grabbing the headlines.
The former Real Madrid forward left early after being replaced by Amad Diallo. He was photographed outside the stadium before the final whistle.
Imagine if it was Harry Maguire leaving the stadium before the final whistle.

According to the Guardian, when it was asked of the club whether Ronaldo was allowed to do that, they were unable to offer a clarification.
However, it must be noted that the Portuguese international wasn’t the only player who left before full-time. Diogo Dalot was also pictured leaving the stadium.
