‘Ten Hag Era Has Begun’ – Twitter Reacts As Manchester United Win The League Cup
Manchester United add a fresh piece of silverware to their laden trophy cabinet at last as the Red Devils beat Newcastle United 2-0 on Sunday at Wembley.
The Mancunian outfit were outspoken in their dominance as evidenced by an exquisite second half laden with attacking chances. However, it was in the first half itself that the match was won and secured.
Casemiro found the back of a Luke Shaw freekick exceptionally well with his head to open the affairs and minutes later Marcus Rashford stormed into the opposition’s box, forcing a deflected own-goal off Sven Botman to settle things at 2-0.
Eddie Howe’s men were resilient in their affairs, but simply could not match the pace and swagger of the Red Devils who were moving with arrogance towards the final whistle.
Twitter was riddled with praise for Erik ten Hag and company with the gaffer leading them to his first piece of silverware in his first season in charge even as the club theoretically remain contenders for a rather phenomenal quadruple.

Casemiro wins your trophies. That’s what he does. Clutch player, born winner. And if you add Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez behind him, you will go far.

This Cup win comes at the back of an incredible run of wins for the Old Trafford outfit who recently saw off Barcelona in the Europa League with similar conviction and the authority of the yesteryears. The likes of Antony and Marcus Rashford were instrumental in the win even as substitutes Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Jadon Sancho cemented the memorable performance.
Supporters are now keen on more of the same from their side, hoping that the players are not content with lifting just this trophy. Incidentally, the FA Cup is right around the corner for a team that is not going to see any victorious rest any time soon.
For now, though, the six-year-long wait ends as the side that once were kings of England now tasting established glory yet again.
