Jadon Sancho received a message from Kylian Mbappe following Manchester United’s League Cup triumph.

The Englishman came off the bench in the Red Devils’ win over Newcastle United in the final at Wembley. The 2-0 win ended United’s near-six-year-long wait for a trophy.

Sancho will certainly take a lot of confidence from his first success in a red shirt. The 22-year-old remained out of action for three months due to physical and mental wellbeing issues, and interestingly made his return in the same competition.

Ten Hag handed him a 27-minute cameo in the semi-final second-leg win over Nottingham Forest early this month. Since then Sancho has looked lively and could’ve found himself on the scoresheet late in the game on Sunday. But Bruno Fernandes decided to test Loris Karius himself rather than squaring the ball to the England international for a tap-in.

Sancho missed out on a goal, but got his hands on the trophy alongside his teammate Marcus Rashford, and made sure to post the picture on Instagram.

Among countless congratulatory messages in the comment section, Sancho also received a beautiful comment from Mbappe. The PSG superstar wrote: “Good to see you with the smile.”

For Ten Hag, the League Cup victory is just the start. And if the Dutch coach continues to get the best out of his current stars, and the club hierarchy maintains their backing in the transfer window by signing marquee names, United will no doubt soon be challenging the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid for the Champions League trophy.
