Manchester United are keeping tabs on Ajax talent Amourricho van Axel Dongen.

Ever since Erik ten Hag moved to Manchester, the Premier League outfit’s recruitment team has seemingly spent a lot of time monitoring players in Amsterdam.

United have been heavily linked with a host of Ajax players since last summer. They managed to lure Lisandro Martinez and Antony to Old Trafford and even held strong interest in Jurrien Timber. The Netherlands international, however, decided to stay at Ajax.

The Red Devils continue to look at the Dutch giants to find players to strengthen their squad in Manchester and have added Van Axel Dongen to the list of potential transfer targets.

According to Fabrizio Romano, United are one of the clubs ‘informed’ on the situation of the Ajax winger, who, as things stand, will be a free agent this summer. The defending Eredivisie champions have offered the talent a new deal until 2027, but an agreement is yet to be reached.

The situation has attracted interest from multiple clubs across Europe. But United could benefit from the fact that Ten Hag knows the player.

The former Ajax manager was influential in Martinez’s decision to join United. The Argentina international was on Arsenal’s radar, but he called Ten Hag to express his desire to reunite with him.

Martinez eventually followed in the Dutch coach’s footsteps and made the switch from the Johan Cruyff Arena to the Theatre of Dreams. Few weeks later, Antony also did the same.
