Mason Mount’s contract situation has led to Chelsea eyeing another Premier League midfielder.

Chelsea are in a contract stand-off with their academy graduate, whose current deal at Stamford Bridge expires in the summer of 2024. Things aren’t very good on the pitch as well, with the England international struggling to fit into Graham Potter’s system.

This has attracted interest from Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City. Chelsea, meanwhile, are looking for a new midfielder to fill Mount’s void should he depart this summer.

According to ESPN, the West London outfit are among the clubs monitoring Andreas Pereira’s situation. The Brazilian midfielder is enjoying a great season at Fulham. The likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid are also interested in the 27-year-old.

Pereira, a former United midfielder, swapped Old Trafford for Craven Cottage before the start of the current season. The promise he showed in the United academy as well as in several pre-seasons, is now being realised under Marco Silva.

He was impressive against his former side in the FA Cup last weekend and played an important role in their opening goal. But Fulham threw away their lead after receiving three red cards in less than a minute.

It is understood that Pereira is happy at the club but would find the opportunity to play for one of Europe’s leading sides ‘hard to turn down’. Fulham value him between £25m and £35m.

However, as far as Chelsea are concerned, a lot depends on what Mount decides in next few months.
