Casemiro stepped up to make a difference at both ends in the 1-0 win over Bournemouth. His acrobatic finish gave Manchester United a ninth-minute lead, and for the remaining minutes of the game, he produced a solid defensive performance to shield the visitor’s backline.

The Brazilian midfielder has had a direct hand in 12 goals for United in all competitions and played a big role in David de Gea winning the Premier League Golden Glove this season.

Now, the 31-year-old is reportedly looking to help his team off the pitch as well.

Manchester United open talks for Neymar

According to French outlet L’Equipe, United have entered into talks with PSG over the possibility of signing Neymar. The Brazilian midfielder is considering leaving the Ligue 1 leaders after an underwhelming six-year spell in the French capital.

Neymar has a contract with PSG until 2027, but they will not get in the way of his desire, as they want to build their side around Kylian Mbappe. Lionel Messi is also set to depart the Parc des Princes come the end of the season.

The Brazil international has struggled with injuries this season, having not featured for the side since February. But before he was sidelined, Neymar was incredible for PSG. In just 20 league appearances, Neymar scored 13 times and assisted 11 goals.

Several clubs may queue up to secure the former Barcelona man’s services this summer. Big-spenders Chelsea are keeping an eye on the situation but the absence of Champions League football at Stamford Bridge might hurt their chances.

Casemiro is understood to be pushing for his Brazilian teammate to join him at Old Trafford. However, it makes little sense for United to make a move for Neymar. They are blessed with several quality options on the left flank and would be better off spending their resources on other positions.
