Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny amid Erik ten Hag’s aim to reshuffle his goalkeeping department this summer.

The United boss wants David de Gea to continue at Old Trafford. The Spaniard has been offered a new contract despite concerns over his tendency to falter in the clutch. The veteran was at fault for conceding avoidable goals against Sevilla and Manchester City in the Europa League and the FA Cup final respectively.

However, Ten Hag wants to bring in a new goalkeeper to challenge the 32-year-old. United have not provided De Gea any assurances over his role in the squad for next season and have also let go of Jack Butland, who joined Rangers on a four-year deal following the end of his short loan spell. The Crystal Palace loanee made zero appearances for United.

United have turned to Szczesny in their search for a quality second goalkeeper, as per TuttoJuve (via the Manchester Evening News). The Italian outlet says the Red Devils are looking for a goalkeeper to ‘replace De Gea as Number 1 next season.’

The former Arsenal man, who left Premier League in 2015 to ply his trade in Serie A, could be available for €10m.

Juventus haven’t enjoyed a very good campaign, but the Poland international was once again a reliable presence between the sticks, making 40 appearances for the Old Lady.

Meanwhile, The Sun has claimed United are set to make a move for Everton star Jordan Pickford.

The England No 1 could land a Champions League club after playing a pivotal role in helping Everton avoid relegation from the Premier League. It is understood the Merseyside outfit may sell Pickford at around £30m.
