“Verbal agreement in principle” – Manchester United submit offer for another signing

Fred has departed Manchester United, marking the end of a reliable midfield partnership at the club. Likewise, several other familiar names are also thought to be on the cusp of departing the side. Chief here is that of former club captain Harry Maguire, who is believed to be on the verge of joining West Ham United.
Interestingly, that deal which was thought to be all but done is still reportedly hanging in the balance with some even speculating that the transfer may fall apart at the last minute.
Regardless, United have already been looking for potential replacements for the Englishman. The temporary signing of Jonny Evans in pre-season did indicate some figure in place for the centre-back spot but there is nothing of substance in that regard just yet.

Instead, many murmurs appear to be taking place in Germany and with a Bayern Munich player in particular.
Benjamin Pavard is open to moving to Old Trafford with speculations also hinting that the player has a verbal agreement in principle.

Pavard has been on the end of his contract with the Bundesliga giants and is believed to be firmly pushing for a move away from the club this summer.
In that sense, it is understandable how Erik ten Hag and company may prove to be an attractive destination for the 27-year-old Frenchman, who is versatile enough to play as a centre-back as well as right-back.
Interestingly, multiple reports have also vehemently claimed that United’s opening bid for the star defender has been rejected by Bayern. This, if true, demonstrates interest from all parties concerned and thus there exists a strong possibility of this saga developing in the coming days.
