Bruno Fernandes is one of the best number 10s in the Premier League. Even when his team isn’t firing on all cylinders, the Portuguese finds a way to accumulate impressive progressive stats.

This season, the 29-year-old has managed just one assist in the league, and yet finds himself third on the list of players with the most key passes – only behind Kieran Trippier and James Maddison.

The Portugal international is often criticized for taking too many risks and giving the ball away, and still, he continues to approach the game in a high-risk style because he values creating for his teammates more than anything else and understands the importance of showing boldness in the final third.

As such, it didn’t surprise many fans when the Manchester United midfielder took to Instagram to show his appreciation for Eden Hazard – one of the best playmakers the Premier League has ever seen.

On Tuesday, the former Chelsea number 10 and Real Madrid number 7 announced his decision to hang up his boots at the age of 32, stating, “You must listen to yourself and say stop at the right time.”

In response to Hazard’s announcement, Fernandes posted a classy message on his Instagram story. He wrote: “Thanks for all the good moments you gave to the world of football. All the real fans of this beautiful sport enjoyed watching you.”

In the last few years, the Belgian star struggled with injuries, spending most of his time on the sidelines in Madrid. However, before his fitness issues, Hazard was an absolute treat to watch and used to frequently run circles around defenders. Fernandes clearly enjoyed watching the former Chelsea man doing his thing and creating for his teammates.
