Manchester United are close to sanctioning a loan deal with Port Vale for Daniel Gore, as per Fabrizio Romano.

Manchester United are showing little signs of bringing in new players during the ongoing winter transfer window despite glaring issues within the squad. Instead, the focus seems to be on getting rid of players who aren’t part of Erik ten Hag’s immediate plans.

The club’s hierarchy have already opened exit doors for the likes of Jadon Sancho, Hannibal Mejbri, Donny van de Beek, and Sergio Reguilon among others. Now it’s being reported that the Red Devils are close to finalizing the exit of another player.

Port Vale close to signing Daniel Gore from Manchester United

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are closing in on an agreement with English outfit Port Vale for the loan transfer of Daniel Gore.

The 19-year-old only made his senior debut this term, coming off the bench against Crystal Palace in the League Cup in September of 2023. Later in December, Gore made his Premier League debut in a 3-2 comeback win over Aston Villa.

The technically gifted midfielder is rated as highly as Kobbie Mainoo in the United academy. Still, he does not appear to enjoy the same trust from Ten Hag, so far at least.

Gore is too exceptional a talent for youth football. As such, it’s certainly a wise decision from United to find a new club for him so that he could gain a regular taste of senior football.

Having said that, it would be better to send the Englishman to a side who play more progressive football. It’s hard to see his potential being effectively realized at Port Vale, who are struggling in the EFL League One and currently find themselves 15th on the league table.
