Alejandro Garnacho is relishing the connection with his attacking partners after moving to the ride side of the flank.

Manchester United have spent around £150m in recent years to strengthen their right wing, having roped in Jadon Sancho under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Antony under Erik ten Hag in quick succession.

However, the public spat with Sancho and Antony’s abysmal form left the United boss scrambling for alternative options to field a balanced frontline during the ongoing season.

The Dutch coach pushed Garnacho, a natural left-winger, to the ride side against Aston Villa just before the new year. The Argentine scored a brace. Since then, he has been regularly playing there.

Before Christmas, Manchester United’s forwards suffered a dearth of goals. However, things have greatly improved since Garnacho moved to his new position. The Red Devils are unbeaten in 2024, having scored 15 goals in five games in all competitions.

The Argentina international, who also scored a brace in his side’s 3-0 win over West Ham over the weekend, spoke to MUTV (via Manchester Evening News) about his recent form.

“We connect very good I think, with me now playing on the right. With Rashy on the left, putting in crosses, and Bruno [Fernandes] in behind,” Garnacho said.

“We think we have a good team in the front. I always try to help the team, score and assist, but I don’t care if I score or if it’s Rasmus or Rashy who scores.”

In a settled frontline, even Ramus Hojlund has found his goal-scoring boots. The Dane striker has scored four goals in his last four appearances.
