Manchester United have secured a classic win over Liverpool in the FA Cup. A much-anticipated fixture truly delivered on all of its hype with the Red Devils coming from back twice to win the game 4-3 deep into extra time.

The home side started things off quite confidently with Scott McTominay’s opener. However, that half ended in gloom with Alexis Mac Allister and Mo Salah scoring quick goals to take the lead.

Antony was able to equalize just before the end of normal time. Soon after, the extra time saw a goal from Harvey Elliott and a blistering equalizer from Marcus Rashford before Amad Diallo promptly scored in the 121st minute to send the Red Devils into the semi-finals.

Here’s how they fared during the much-needed win:

Andre Onana – 8.4

On paper, the keeper did let in three goals but two of them were unfortunate deflections which he had no control over. Good overall display.

Diogo Dalot0 – 7.0

Apart from good flank presence and rotation during extra time, Dalot was also a masterful tackler.

Raphael Varane – 6.5

Poor display from the Frenchman who did not show his experience.

Victor Lindelof – 6.0

Back playing as a centre-back it did seem that the Swede has forgotten what to do in the role.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 7.0

Back from injury and showed a lot of promise but was too wasteful with his attacking runs.

Scott McTominay – 8.5

Goalscorer and reliable presence, McTominay also assisted Rashford’s equalizer and provided plenty of danger through his duels and absorbing intent.

Kobbie Mainoo – 7.5

Good dribbling from him but the fixture fatigue might be catching on.

Alejandro Garnacho – 8.0

Creative genius who practically troubled Liverpool defenders with every touch of the ball.

Bruno Fernandes – 7.0

Lost far too many duels and that too at crucial junctures.

Marcus Rashford – 8.0

Had Rashford been more clinical with his finishing the game need not have gone to extra time in the first place.

Rasmus Hojlund – 7.0

Not the return from injury that fans would have been hoping for. Perhaps the Premier League will attract a better fare from him.

Harry Maguire – 8.0

Solid attacking presence and threat from corners.

Antony – 7.5

Did well to put the ball into the back of the net and was a source of much danger in the dying minutes.

Christian Eriksen – 7.0

Steadied the ship a bit as the deepest midfielder.

Mason Mount – 6.5

Back from injury but has a lot to do.

Amad Diallo – 7.5

Simply brilliant and timed his shot perfectly for the winner. Cannot blame him for expressing his emotions and getting the second yellow for removing his shirt.
