Manchester United’s future is clearly up for grabs. The club is trying to qualify for Champions League football next season either through the seemingly unreachable 4th place finish or at least via the hopeful 5th place finish route.

To add to that is the possibility of an FA Cup silverware where the club is doing well in recent rounds. Erik ten Hag still has the possibility of redeeming a season where he has been criticized for not employing effective tactics.

While his recent antics have raised questions one cannot deny that the injury crisis and the largely ineffective leadership over the summer may have given Ten Hag a bad draw in the first place. Now the big question is about the Dutch gaffer’s future at the club.

New Manchester United figure to decide whether Erik ten Hag stays

Now with Ten Hag confidently planning pre-season decisions, the big decision on his future rests on one man.

As per the MEN, Man United’s new CEO Omar Berrada will be tasked with deciding whether or not Ten Hag will lead the team come summer.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been non-committal when asked about whether or not the former Ajax man will continue as gaffer but has indicated that the gaffer’s time thus far may not be the best display of what he is capable of achieving.

Further, the INEOS leadership has also indicated that they wish to see a more head-coach sort of figure take care of the footballing side of things going forward. In this case, the big question is whether Ten Hag cuts the bill in such a role.

Having said that, one also has to pose the question of whether or not Old Trafford is suffering from a manager fatigue ever since Sir Alex Ferguson retired and what another manager may bring to the Theatre of Dreams is already a big question.
