Manchester United’s new manager could be a familiar face
Manchester United might be an option that Thomas Tuchel will consider for a managerial role next season.
Erik ten Hag’s future was seemingly sealed in the dying seconds of the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry when the Mancunian giants threw away a 3-0 lead and were almost beaten 3-4 if not for a controversial offside decision by VAR and a successful penalty shootout.
Many have said that the result that would see a Manchester derby in the finals is merely a delay to Ten Hag’s inevitable sacking.
Even the piece of silverware might not prove enough to redeem the Dutchman as Louis van Gaal is all too aware with respect to his end as a boss at Man United.
As per ESPN, Thomas Tuchel might be open to moving to Manchester United next season if an apt offer is made.
According to the source, Barcelona are trying to acquire the signature of the Bayern Munich manager who is confirmed to be parting ways with the German side this summer.
However, it is understood the Barca offer is not something that the former Chelsea boss is very keen on, as he prefers to return to the Premier League.
The source adds that there are some amongst Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s team who would be open to Tuchel taking charge.
Interestingly, the manager’s league standings haven’t been rosy with Bayern Munich, ending their seemingly unassailable streak of securing the Bundesliga title. This is understood to be one of the factors behind the parting.
