Manchester United leading race to sign exciting Premier League winger
Manchester United have been dubbed “front-runners” in the race for Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.
United’s predicament at the right flank is as hilarious as its frustrating for the club’s hierarchy. Their one winger, Antony, got his first league goal only recently — more than 30 league games into the season.
Another option, Jadon Sancho, meanwhile, has left everyone stunned with his performances in the Champions League — but for Borussia Dortmund, where he is on loan until the end of the season.
Futures of both players remain uncertain at United, who could certainly do with another signing in that position.
Manchester United leading Michael Olise race
According to ESPN, United’s new leadership group have “identified” Michael Olise as a key target in their rebuild.
United are considered front-runners to sign the 22-year-old star, who came very close to joining Chelsea last summer before signing a new deal at Palace.
Olise’s new contract contains a release clause that becomes active after the end of the season. The exact figure remains unclear but it is thought it falls in the region of £50m. As things stand, talks are not at an “advanced stage”.

Lack of Champions League football weakens United’s position financially but the Red Devils could be open to offer Aaron Wan-Bissaka to lower Palace’s demands.
Olise has shown incredible potential with his dribbling skills and creative vision, scoring seven goals and assisting four times in 16 league appearances this term. However, his injury record may prove to be a sticking point in any move.
