Manchester United are not going to pull the trigger on Erik ten Hag just yet.
A visit to Crystal Palace further intensified pressure on the United gaffer, as the hosts humbled the Red Devils at Selhurst Park.
Casemiro’s abysmal defending against Michael Olise early in the game set the tone for the night. The young French forward comfortably ran through United’s midfield and backline to give Palace the lead in the 12th minute.
Almost every Palace player enjoyed the same freedom against United’s disjointed setup, leading to them conceding three more unanswered goals before the referee blew the full-time whistle.
Erik ten Hag to manage Manchester United in the FA Cup final
The most frustrating aspect of the outing was that not many Manchester United fans were surprised with their performance.
Such has been Ten Hag’s coaching – or lack thereof – that United have consistently found themselves on the back foot this season. 35 league games into the season, they boast a goal difference of negative three.
Regardless, it seems Ineos are going to take their time before making the big decision. According to The Sun, Ten Hag is expected to be given the remainder of the season to steady the ship at Old Trafford.
The Dutch coach is set to remain in charge against Arsenal, Newcastle, and Brighton as well as lead United at Wembley in the FA Cup final on May 25.

It is understood United’s stance has always been to let the former Ajax man remain in charge until the end of the campaign. That is not going to change after the embarrassing 4-0 defeat against Palace.
However, that doesn’t mean Ten Hag’s long-term future at the club is secured. As things stand, the club’s hierarchy has yet to make a final decision on his position.
