Manchester United’s ‘priority target’ Michael Olise was hailed by Pep Guardiola in 2023.
In recent days, Pep Guardiola has received criticism for how he set up his Manchester City side against Manchester United, who stunned the Premier League champions at Wembley and took home the FA Cup trophy last week.
Guardiola did make a mistake in aptly judging United’s threat, but he remains the best footballing mind in the league at the moment. The Spaniard certainly knows a talent when he sees one. As such, his comment on Olise paints a very promising picture for the Crystal Palace winger.
Speaking about Palace’s quality in March of last year, Guardiola praised the Frenchman, stating: “Zaha is there, Olise, Eze, they are incredible strikers and they have incredible threat. They have composure. Great attacking players.”
Impressively, since then Olise has further improved his game, enjoying another prolific season in the league. This has naturally intensified interest in him.
Michael Olise very keen to join Manchester United – report
Manchester United and Chelsea are both reported to be determined to sign Michael Olise.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs (via GiveMeSport), the 22-year-old winger is a “priority target” for United’s new decision-makers.
Despite interest from Chelsea, it seems the player is interested in moving to Old Trafford. “He would be very keen on joining as well,” Jacobs adds.

It could cost north of £50m to sign the “incredible” Olise. But how feasible such a move is for United considering their financial fair play concerns remains to be seen.
Having said that, there’s no doubt that the dynamic winger has the potential to greatly strengthen the side’s frontline.
