Jose Mourinho has identified Manchester United’s Victor Lindelof as his defensive target at Fenerbahce, according to reports.
Ricardo Carvalho, Michael Essien, Samuel Eto’o, Nemanja Matic, Zlatan Ibrahimovic—Jose Mourinho has a tendency of bringing his old players to new clubs, and the aforementioned names are proof.
Now, the new Fenerbahce manager is keen on adding another name to this list, as reports suggest he is currently pursuing a player he had once signed at Manchester United: Victor Lindelof.
Manchester United star Victor Lindelof is once again on Jose Mourinho’s radar
It was Jose Mourinho who, during his Old Trafford stint, had signed Victor Lindelof from Benfica in a transfer worth around €35m. Now, the Portuguese tactician is keen on reuniting with the Swede once again.
According to Turkish outlet Fotomac (via Express), Fenerbahce will try to convince United to part ways with Lindelof with a bid in the region of £7m.
Lindelof has made 259 appearances for Manchester United since 2017, of which the initial 45 were under Mourinho’s management.
Despite featuring in the Red Devils’ backline quite frequently since then, and under multiple managers at that, he has been unable to establish himself as a guaranteed starter.

The 29-year-old’s current deal with the Old Trafford club runs until the summer of 2025. It is claimed the former Benfica man has grown ‘bored’ of his situation at Old Trafford and shares a mutual interest to work with Mourinho.
Lindelof’s prospective departure could also help Manchester United generate vital funds, which could then redirect those at their own set of defensive targets. All things considered, this potential deal could end up being a win for all parties involved.
