Manchester United’s new co-owners are reportedly miffed at Erik ten Hag for publicising details of their Ibiza meeting.

In a recent interview with Dutch TV, the Red Devils boss revealed how the club officials surprisingly turned up on his doorstep while he was holidaying in Ibiza.

When asked whether he had been able to enjoy some vacation time, Ten Hag had replied: “Yes, but this week, they really threw a spanner in the works because then, out of nowhere, they suddenly showed up right on our doorstep (in Ibiza).”

There, the INEOS officials informed the ex-Ajax coach that they had spoken to multiple candidates, which reportedly included high-profile names like Thomas Tuchel. But ultimately, they concluded that they would like to continue with Ten Hag at the managerial helm.

This revelation by Erik ten Hag did not go down too well with Manchester United’s new part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, The Sun reports.

The English publication elaborates that Ratcliffe and his team were unhappy with the Dutch tactician, as they believed information about the private meeting should not have been made public—especially on the Dutch national television.

However, even if there was some annoyance at the INEOS end, it is unlikely to be anything more than a minor bump in the road they have decided to take with Ten Hag.

Elaborating on the discussions that took place in Ibiza, Ten Hag had added: “We had a good talk and various topics were discussed and the conclusion was that we will continue with each other but also the conclusion is that we are going to sit down to renew the contract.”

The Old Trafford outfit will reportedly offer Ten Hag a new three-year deal. While an agreement is yet to be reached, it doesn’t seem to be far off.
