Manchester United are all set to bring in Christopher Vivell to oversee their recruitment strategy during this summer’s transfer window.

United’s new co-owners INEOS have made some ambitious behind-the-scenes moves to improve the club’s football structure.

Omar Berrada (formerly of Manchester City), Dan Ashworth (formerly of Newcastle United), and Jason Wilcox (formerly of Southampton) have all joined the new project at Old Trafford, as Sir Jim Ratcliffe looks to put United back in a position where they can challenge for major trophies.

In that regard, how these new decision makers approach this summer’s transfer window could play a big part in shaping the Red Devils’ rebuild.

Manchester United to work with Chelsea technical director Christopher Vivell

Manchester United are keen to ensure they aptly back manager Erik ten Hag this summer by signing top players. In order to achieve that, they are set to appoint Christopher Vivell.

According to The Athletic, United intend to add Vivell to their setup “on an initial short-term basis to help with the summer transfer window.”

Vivell, who most recently worked as Chelsea’s technical director, has impressed plenty with his eye for spotting right talents for the Red Bull group in Salzburg and Leipzig.

The German transfer expert has been involved in transfers of players like Dominik Szoboszlai, Erling Haaland, Benjamin Sesko, and Josko Gvardiol.

Ratcliffe has previously admitted his team’s aim is to find ‘next Kylian Mbappe’ rather than spending big on established superstars. As such, Vivell’s expertise around talent ID could prove to be crucial for United this summer.
