Manchester United are planning to sell Casemiro this summer, even if it means suffering a “huge loss”, according to reports.
The ex-Real Madrid midfielder joined the Old Trafford club in a whopping £70 million deal in the summer of 2022. He improved the team immediately upon his arrival, impressing one and all with his passionate performances.
However, his second season in Manchester was the exact opposite. While injuries kept him on the sidelines for a major chunk of the campaign, the limited time that he did spend on the pitch only showed signs of his rapid decline.
Now, a third season at the Theatre of Dreams appears unlikely for the Brazilian international, with the club seemingly set on letting him go.
Manchester United hierarchy convinced on Casemiro sale
According to Football Insider, Manchester United have already informed Casemiro that he is free to seek fresh challenges at a new club.
United hierarchy as well as coaching staff believe the 32-year-old’s “legs have gone” and he is no longer fit to cope with the pace of the Premier League. Owing to this decline, the club is eager to sell this depreciating asset, even if it means suffering a loss in the process.
Luckily for the Mancunian club as well as the defensive midfielder, Casemiro is said to be attracting strong interest from a host of Saudi clubs. Given this fact, a transfer is very much on the cards before the ongoing summer window shuts.

Selling the Brazilian, even for a huge loss, could be an attractive prospect for Manchester United. That’s because along with whatever transfer fee they receive, the English giants will also get a major chunk off their wage bill, considering Casemiro remains one of the club’s highest earners.
The same money is then likely to be redirected towards new midfield reinforcements, especially with the Reds already eyeing a potential move for PSG’s Manuel Ugarte.
