Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly approached Manchester United wide-man Jadon Sancho with a contract offer—one that has left the player ‘extremely excited’.

After falling out with manager Erik ten Hag, getting sidelined and subsequently heading out on loan to former club Borussia Dortmund last season, Sancho has returned to the Old Trafford club yet again this summer.

Surprisingly for many, the 24-year-old has cleared the air with Ten Hag, with both agreeing to draw a line under the situation and start afresh. Sancho even donned the famous red shirt once again last weekend, when he started in the Red Devils’ 2-0 friendly win over Rangers.

But the mere fact that Sancho is back in contention does not mean he will commit his long-term future to Manchester United. In fact, a move away might well be on the horizon, especially with multiple clubs circling around the talented player.

PSG make ‘exciting’ Sancho approach

According to reports, Jadon Sancho’s potential availability had alerted several top European clubs, including Barcelona and Juventus. Borussia Dortmund were also interested in re-signing their former player, but couldn’t afford to pay the fee for a permanent transfer.

Now, it appears PSG have joined this decorated list of suitors as well. As per Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna (via Football365), PSG have already approached the Englishman over a potential switch, and are currently in the process of reaching a contractual agreement with the player.

This love affair supposedly began towards the end of last season, when Sancho impressed for Dortmund during their Champions League semi-final clash against PSG. The winger was especially outstanding in the first-leg 1-0 win at the Westfalenstadion, and the Parisians have seemingly been interested in him ever since.

With Kylian Mbappe now bound to Real Madrid, PSG believe Sancho would be a ‘perfect’ addition to their new-look team. However, it remains to be seen whether Manchester United are prepared to let him go; and if they are, at what price.

The transfer rumour mill has hinted that new club co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe would want at least £42 million for the England international, for whom the Reds paid a whopping £73 million back in July 2021.

The fact that Ten Hag and Sancho have made up now leaves United in a stronger negotiating position, meaning they may be able to recoup a significant amount of their original Sancho fee after all.

What’s more, this development might also help the Mancunians in their own pursuit of Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte, who is reportedly keen on leaving the French capital and joining the new project at the Theatre of Dreams.
