Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri is determined to exit Old Trafford, as per reports.

The Red Devils are in the market for a new midfielder, as the position remains a big area of concern for Erik ten Hag, who continues to rely on the ageing Casemiro to shield his side’s backline.

Manuel Ugarte has emerged as United’s priority target for that defensive midfield role, but the club is struggling to find an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain.

Ideally, United want to raise funds through midfield sales as this could strengthen their pursuit of a new midfield signing. In that regard, Mejbri’s desire could help their case.

Manchester United midfielder wants to leave – report

According to Buzz News Tunisia (via the Manchester Evening News), Hannibal Mejbri is eager to leave Manchester United.

In fact, the 21-year-old is so keen on a move that he has reportedly ‘handed in a transfer request’ to leave Old Trafford.

Lack of minutes during the first half of last season under Ten Hag played a big role in Mejbri moving to Sevilla on loan in January.

It appears the combative midfielder is still not viewed as an integral part of the gaffer’s plans, as he has been handed just one start in United’s five pre-season friendlies. He was also absent from the matchday squad against Manchester City at Wembley.

It is understood Rangers are interested in Mejbri. However, as things stand, nothing is advanced between United and the Scottish outfit.

While Mejbri appears destined to leave, another academy midfielder, Toby Collyer is expected to cement his place in the first-team fold, having enjoyed a promising pre-season this summer.
