Jadon Sancho waiting for Chelsea despite transfer push from Juventus

Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has set his sights on a move to Chelsea ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline day.

United are working on resolving Sancho’s future during the final days of the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old is clearly not in Erik ten Hag’s first-team plans, as the United boss has overlooked him while naming his matchday squad for each of the opening two Premier League games.

Sancho has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford all summer. Now, in the final week, it appears both Juventus and Chelsea are interested in handing him an escape route.

Manchester United outcast wants Chelsea over Juventus

According to The Guardian, Jadon Sancho is ‘holding out’ for an offer from Chelsea despite Juventus ‘persisting with their efforts’ to bring him to Turin on loan.

Chelsea, meanwhile, appear to be working on bringing Napoli striker Victor Osimhen to Stamford Bridge at the moment.

The Blues also held talks with United over a potential swap deal involving Sancho and Raheem Sterling. The ex-Manchester City winger has been informed that he is no longer a part of Enzo Maresca’s plans.

United are yet to decide if they seriously want to pursue the signing of Sterling, but Chelsea remain ‘in the running’ for the former Borussia Dortmund star.

Despite his preference to move to London, Juventus have not given up on luring Sancho to Serie A on a temporary basis.

The Italian giants have agreed to sell Federico Chiesa to Liverpool, and remain in the market for a new wide player to rejuvenate their frontline.

As far as United are concerned, they will hope Sancho makes up his mind swiftly and finds a new club before Friday. The Englishman is one of the highest paid players at United. Considering he is likely to not feature regularly under Ten Hag, it makes both sporting and financial sense to part ways this summer itself.
