Next Sancho? Manchester United star risks angering Erik ten Hag with another mistake
Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho’s social media activity may put him on the wrong side of Erik ten Hag.
Ten Hag might have struggled to implement his tactical ideas at Old Trafford, but the Dutchman has certainly controlled the dressing room better than many previous United managers.
The United gaffer has been involved in two high-profile fallouts during his time in Manchester. The first was with Cristiano Ronaldo in 2022, and the second was with Jadon Sancho in 2023.
Despite their stardom, both players eventually found themselves out of the club after failing to mend their relationships with Ten Hag.
Alejandro Garnacho ‘likes’ Cristiano Ronaldo’s scathing remark about Erik ten Hag
It appears now that Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho is testing Erik ten Hag’s patience, as he liked Fabrizio Romano’s post about Cristiano Ronaldo’s comments.
The United legend recently sat down with Rio Ferdinand for his podcast, wherein he criticised United’s attitude under Ten Hag.
“Man United’s coach cannot say they can’t compete to win the Premier League and the Champions League every year,” the 39-year-old.
“This is Man United! You have to be there, to mentally say… listen, maybe we don’t have that potential, but I cannot say that. We’re going to try. You have to try.”
Many Instagram users liked Romano’s post, and a few noticed Garnacho was one of them.

Whether Garnacho agrees with Ronaldo’s assessment or not, Ten Hag is unlikely to be best pleased with his social media activity, especially since this isn’t the first time the 20-year-old has done something that has put his manager in a tough spot.
In April of last season, the Argentine was subbed off at half-time against Bournemouth. After the game, Garnacho liked a number of posts criticising Ten Hag. He later had to apologise to his manager.
