Manchester United star surprisingly turns down Bayern Munich’s approach

Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho continues to wait for Chelsea.

United’s new-look attack, featuring Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, raised plenty of eyebrows with their electric showing against Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Garnacho, who was one of the side’s most prolific attackers last term, sat at home, waiting to resolve his future.

Nearly three months ago, Ruben Amorim told the 21-year-old to pack his bags, in front of his teammates. The Portuguese tactician was reportedly left unimpressed with the Argentine’s attitude.

Since then, United have been willing to listen to offers for their academy product, keen to offload him as soon as possible. However, their efforts have been stalled due to the left-winger’s firm stance.

Garnacho snubs Bayern approach

According to Fabrizio Romano, Garnacho only wants to join Chelsea.

The Argentina international has reportedly told United he will either move to Stamford Bridge or stay at Old Trafford beyond this summer.

Romano reveals that Bayern Munich made an approach over a potential summer deal in the last 48 hours. However, Garnacho turned down a move to the Bundesliga.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are “advancing” in their talks with United for Garnacho. They reportedly have an “excellent relationship” with the club’s CEO Omar Berrada.

United are holding out for a £50m transfer fee for the pacey forward, but they know Chelsea will try to take advantage of Garnacho’s public fallout and drive the price down.

This could be the real test of Ineos’ resolve and a major opportunity to send Garnacho and his representatives the message that any transfer will materialise on their terms.

It has been previously reported that United have rejected Chelsea’s proposal of a possible swap deal involving players like Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku.
