Fans Love How Scott McTominay Reacted After United’s Third Goal vs RB Leipzig
Manchester United triumphed over RB Leipzig this week in their latest Champions League outing.
Marcus Rashford led the attack, claiming a hat-trick to his name whilst Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood registered a goal each. Ole Gunnar Solskjær achieved this feat by keeping a cleansheet at the same time, which is no small task. Despite his side’s inconsistencies, the Norwegian gaffer made sure the world is left in no doubt of how good they can be on their day.
Every player on the pitch for the Red Devils put in a shift, especially Scott McTominay who not only kept the game going, but also made sure the mentality of the team did not become complacent.
Following Rashford’s second goal which extended the scoreline to 3-0, the Scott was seen motivating his teammates and asking them to concentrate and hold on for the remaining minutes. McTominay was filmed saying:
“Here we go again, go again, let’s go come on!” he told the rest of the United side. “We’ve got to be aggressive, twelve minutes left, let’s go!”
This is exactly the type of mentality managers and fans appreciate. Encouraging teammates to stay vigilant despite being in a comfortable lead is one of the most stand-out behaviours of a captain. It is no surprise that Solskjær turns to the youngster so often despite not being technically the most sound player in his arsenal.
Meanwhile, fans lauded the midfielder’s efforts and praised him left and right on social media, deservedly so. The supporters love worth ethic and will always show their support for it, which creates a positive cycle between them and the players.
Here are some reactions from the fans:
And people ask me why I like Mctominay so much. https://t.co/fdaLNKiVJA

Likely why McTominay gets good game time recently – we’ve needed this little bit more grit and mentality. Against Spurs this was exactly what was missing. https://t.co/2jfa6oiIOk
